Interim Principal, Mr. Tommy Hollingsworth
Hello. I am Tommy Hollingsworth, interim principal of Martins Creek Elementary/Middle School. I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to work with the staff, students, families, and communities of Martins Creek. I was born and raised in Haywood County and graduated from Western Carolina University with a degree in Industrial Arts Education and later School Administration. I taught and coached in Haywood and Buncombe Counties before going into administration. I was an administrator for 21 years in Buncombe, Haywood, Abbeville (SC), and Clay Counties. I retired from Hayesville Middle School two years ago. I came to Martins Creek Elementary/Middle School to finish out the school year.
My wife, Shelley, is the Finance Officer for Clay County Schools. We have 4 children and 3 grandchildren with 1 on the way.
As an administrator, I believe in empowering our teachers and students every day to grow through the various opportunities and expectations that Martins Creek School provides.
